We are proud to share a major milestone for Pet Network Humane Society and the Pet Network Community Hospital: our new CT scanner is officially installed and in use.
This achievement was made possible thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters and the success of our recent Fur Ball Gala, where our community came together to raise the funds needed to bring this lifesaving diagnostic tool to Lake Tahoe.

A Win for Local Pets
Until now, pets in our region often had to travel hours away for advanced diagnostic imaging. With the installation of our CT scanner, that has changed. This technology allows our veterinary team to:
Diagnose complex injuries and illnesses with greater speed and precision
Develop more accurate treatment plans, improving outcomes for patients
Provide immediate, in-house imaging for urgent cases, reducing critical delays in care
For shelter animals, this means earlier detection of serious medical issues and a better chance at recovery and adoption. For community pets, it means access to cutting-edge diagnostic tools right here in Incline Village, without the added stress of long-distance travel.
From Vision to Reality
Bringing a CT scanner to Pet Network has been a dream for years. It is a resource that benefits both our Humane Society and the broader community, allowing us to elevate the level of care we can provide.
Dr. Tremblay, Director of Veterinary Services at Pet Network, shared:
“This technology has truly transformed our diagnostic capabilities. We can now quickly identify issues that may not appear on standard X-rays, giving us the ability to intervene sooner and more effectively.”
Why It Matters
For a shelter like Pet Network, advanced diagnostics mean more than improved medical care—they mean lives saved. From complex orthopedic cases to identifying internal conditions that would otherwise go undetected, the CT scanner helps us provide the highest level of care to the animals who need us most.
This milestone also strengthens the role of the Pet Network Community Hospital as a resource for local pet owners.
Thank You
This project would not have been possible without our Fur Ball donors, sponsors, and everyone who has supported Pet Network. Your generosity has brought advanced veterinary technology to our community and is already making a difference for pets in need.
We look forward to sharing more stories about how this CT scanner is transforming care for the animals of Lake Tahoe.

It is honestly such a relief for pet owners in the Tahoe area. Driving down the mountain to Reno or Sacramento for an emergency scan is stressful enough without worrying about the weather or traffic, so having this right in Incline Village is a eggy car game-changer. Plus, seeing "Fur Ball" gala money go toward something this tangible and high-tech makes you feel like those donations actually did something huge.
